Result of performing a sequence alignment between the [[glossary:pdb |PDB's ]] [[glossary:seqres | SEQRES ]] records and [[glossary:atom | ATOM ]] records on a per chain basis and this is used as the basis of a lot of calculations in CATH including generating sequence files.
